Cozy Winter Suppers, by Claire Criscuolo, RN I’ve always turned to my kitchen for warmth and comfort, but during the cold winter months, I especially enjoy making dishes that require long baking. The kitchen feels warm and cozy, and the aromas fill the house, calling all to the table. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to invite a few friends over on a Friday or Saturday night for supper and a video. We light the fire, open a bottle of wine, and catch up on the events of the week, while our supper is in the oven. For dessert, I like to keep it simple by serving hot cider, mulled with cinnamon sticks and cloves, or cups of espresso, served with wedges of bosc pears dipped in a little apple cider to prevent browning, and a plate of good chocolates.
